Shure SM57 tips and review

The Shure SM57 is the least expensive and most useful mic in both a studio and live setting.  It's versatility is impressive.  A dynamic mic with a cardioid pickup pattern, I really like the way it sounds on snare drums, toms, guitar cabs, kick drums (for a tweaked out attack heavy kick sound) and yes vocals.  It's been around for decades and for good reason.  Able to handle abuse and used from nightclubs to professional studios, the Shure SM57 offers a phenomenal value.  For an interesting acoustic guitar sound, try using the SM57 instead of a condensor mic.
